What To bring to the Appointment?

  • Valid photo identification: A government-issued ID such as a driver's license, passport, or state ID is required to verify identity.
  • Loan documents: Sometimes the signing service or lender may provide pre-sent documents, but signers should bring any original paperwork they have.
  • Proof of insurance or other documents: Some lenders may require a copy of the borrower's insurance card or other specific documents.
  • Payment if required: If there is a fee for the notary or loan signing agent, the signer should be prepared with the agreed payment method.
  • Additional information: If there are co-signers or spouses, they should also bring their IDs. Any special instructions from the signing service or lender should be followed (e.g., bring a voided check if funds are coming back).

How do I prepare for a mobile notary appointment ?

  • Do Not remove any staples from any of the documents. You run the risk of the lender not accepting the document because it looks tampered with.

Cancellation policy

  • Advance Notice Requirement: Clients should provide at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule without penalty, allowing the notary to adjust their schedule and potentially offer the slot to others.
  • No Refund or Partial Refund Policy: Payments are often non-refundable once the notary is en route or arrives at the location. Some businesses apply a credit for rescheduling instead of refunds.
  • Cancellation Fees: If the client cancels within less than 24 hours or on short notice (e.g., less than 2-3 hours before appointment), a cancellation fee or percentage of the appointment fee is charged to compensate the notary for lost time and travel expenses, often around 50% of the fee or a fixed amount ($25-$50).
